Stephen Aber is a thrillingly versatile musician with skills in performing, writing, and conducting music of almost any genre. He's performed in churches, universities, and concert halls across the country. His style is unique, and his bling is unmatched.
Born and raised in North Carolina, Stephen began piano lessons at age eight and quickly realized he had a natural aptitude for theory and performance. In four years, he was accompanying his school choral groups and teaching himself the organ, and he got his first church gig before he could drive himself to services. An alumnus of Baylor, Belmont, and Queens Universities, he holds degrees in organ performance, choral conducting, and organizational communication.
Stephen holds roles with several organizations, linked below. He is Assistant Director of Creative Arts at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, in Raleigh, NC, he is Director of Operations at North Carolina Master Chorale, and he and his business partner Susan Baldwin run Customerized, a boutique marketing firm based in Raleigh.
Stephen expanded his virtual music presence in 2020, amidst the global COVID pandemic, and began Sacred Sounds, an online series of sacred music performance. In 2021, Stephen Aber Music will expand into other genres, include guest artists, and explore new locations, as safe travel protocols allow.
